From Curiosity to Passion

All passion begins with a simple question, and Jelyca’s interest is no exception. “It really started with curiosity. I’ve always loved the way color can completely transform how someone feels,” she shares.

That curiosity soon unfolded into a world of colors—where she was captivated not only through science, but also the cultural richness embedded in various systems, from Korean and Japanese frameworks to Western methodologies. “Once I learned about the science and cultural depth behind personal color analysis, I was hooked. I wanted to create a space where people could experience that same ‘aha’ moment—where everything just clicks and they feel seen.”

Realizing the transformative power of discovering one’s personal color palette, Jelyca decided to turn her passion into a professional journey. Timeless Tones & Co. came to life as a call for everyone to step into a world where color is more than just aesthetics—it’s a bridge to self-acceptance, cultural pride, and everyday confidence.

A Global, Tailored Approach to Color

As she immersed herself in advanced training—including professional certification under CPLUS3 Academy, where she studied Korean, Japanese, and American color systems—Jelyca developed a deep understanding of global color theories. She also trained under Francesca Cairns in the UK and received professional training in the Cocory colorimeter, a scientific tool widely trusted in Korea.

Currently, she is also expanding her expertise through certification in Colors in Nature: Wedding Colors by Leatrice Eiseman, further deepening her understanding of color harmony and seasonal palettes.

Determined to bring this knowledge home, she became San Diego’s first and only provider offering a multi-system approach—merging the best of Korean, Japanese, UK, and American frameworks to deliver deeply personalized results.

As a mother, her mission became even more personal. She aspired to create a business that embodied cultural pride, creativity, and empowerment. “There’s nothing better than seeing someone light up when they find the shades that make them feel confident and radiant,” she proudly shares.

Building a Business from Scratch

Working a stable office job while minding her own business at the same time was no easy task. “Shifting my mindset from structured systems to building something entirely my own was tough,” Jelyca reflects on this life-changing leap. However, it was this bold move that helped her develop the flexibility and creativity that would become the cornerstone of her entrepreneurial journey.

Adding to the challenge was the fact that personal color analysis was still a novel concept in San Diego. This meant Jelyca had to exercise patience, taking time to educate her clients while staying grounded in her belief in the value of her work. Through persistence and unwavering dedication to her craft, she gradually earned the community’s trust. With each session, her clients not only discovered colors that enhanced their features but also gained newfound confidence and a deeper understanding of themselves—solidifying the mission of Timeless Tones & Co. and highlighting the profound impact of her work.

British-Pakistani Chef Ali Ahmed Aslam Who Invented Chicken Tikka Masala Passes Away at 77

Ali Ahmed Aslam, a chef who is thought to have created Britain’s favorite curry the ‘chicken tikka masala’, passed away at the age of 77.

Aslam’s death was announced by his Glasgow restaurant, Shish Mahal, which closed for 48 hours as a sign of respect. His funeral was held at Glasgow Central Mosque, where the public was invited to attend.

Aslam was born in Pakistan and moved to Glasgow as a child, establishing Shish Mahal in 1964.

Aslam told the AFP news agency that he came up with the chicken tikka masala in the 1970s after a customer asked if there was a way to make his chicken tikka less dry. He then added a creamy tomato sauce.

In 2009, Aslam advocated for the city to be recognized as the chicken tikka masala’s birthplace.

He pushed for Glasgow to get EU Protected Designation of Origin status for its curry and introduced an early-day motion. However, several other places in the UK have claimed to have originated the dish.

Veteran News Correspondent John Yang To Sit As PBS News Weekend’s Newest Anchor

Beginning this December 31st, John Yang will take over as the new host of PBS News Weekend.

The 64-year-old veteran news correspondent and commentator covered politics and international events for most of his career. He had been exposed to these topics since the 1980s, not long after receiving his degree from Wesleyan University.

He worked as a journalist for The Boston Globe, Time, The Washington Post, and NBC News before joining “NewsHour” in early 2016 as a national correspondent covering the election and the first year of the Trump administration.

Since that time, he has concentrated on reporting more about the Supreme Court and intends to continue doing so.

Yang pledges to deliver the same sorts of subjects that are vital to the weekday audience which according to him can only be seen on “NewsHour” with his new position.

“Getting out in the field is really what gives my work energy,” he adds.

Yang will also be allowed to blend in other stories that may surprise viewers, according to Rachel Wellford, executive producer of the half-hour weekend program.

“Viewers may anticipate a combination of the lighter fare that people like to watch on weekends, including interviews with musicians, artists, and athletes. Weekends allow us to cover a wide range of topics that we may not have time to cover during the five-day-per-week “PBS NewsHour” program. On that, we’ll keep expanding,” she said.

Yang will take over for Geoff Bennett, who will join Amna Nawaz on the daily version of PBS NewsHour, following Judy Woodruff.

50-Year-Old Chinese Flight Attendant Who Lost Job Due To Age Limits Received Got Hired At A Foreign Airline After Learning New Languages

Age sets no limits for a 50-year-old flight attendant from China who lost her job and instead sought to better herself by studying English and Finnish, which caused her to receive numerous offers and land a new job at a foreign airline.

“Use all your strength and courage to deal with life. Live in the moment, and never regret every step you’ve taken,” Ms. Hu says in South China Morning Post.

The Chinese cabin crew is one of the numerous people who are subjected to discriminatory age restrictions in China, as airlines do not hire anyone older than 40.

The Beijing-native woman was dismissed from her six-year employment at Norwegian Air Shuttle during an internal restructuring.

Hu’s video received popularity online and positive comments from internet users who praised her as a shining example for women.

“She is so encouraging. Everybody, let us learn from her to improve ourselves,” an online reader commented.

The lady is now on her 8th month at her new job. Sharing her beauty regimen, she said “I exercise routinely, and I insist on eating a healthy diet. These are major reasons that I am still able to handle this physically demanding job which requires flying for long hours.”

Her life story gained notoriety as an inspiration, which helped raise awareness of age discrimination in the mainland job market.
